Curious about how therapy works, what to expect, or whether this space is the right fit for you?
I’ve gathered some common questions here to help you feel more informed and at ease. If you don’t find your answer below, feel free to reach out — I’d be happy to help.
Do you work with children, couples, or families?
I work exclusively with adults (18+). I don’t currently offer therapy for children, couples, or families, but I’m happy to offer referrals when needed.
What kind of therapy do you offer?
My approach is intuitive, person-centered, and grounded in evidence-informed practice, lived experience, and a strong therapeutic relationship. I tailor each session to your needs using a blend of supportive conversation, gentle goal setting, psychoeducation, and strategies that feel manageable — no one-size-fits-all model here.
What kinds of challenges can I bring to therapy?
I work with a wide range of experiences, including chronic pain, neurodivergence (Autism and ADHD), anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma-related concerns, low self-esteem, and addiction recovery. If you’re unsure whether I’m the right fit, I welcome you to reach out and we can talk about it.
How do virtual sessions work?
All sessions are held online through a secure video platform (Jane App). You’ll receive a private link by email before each appointment. You don’t need to download anything — just a quiet space and an internet connection.
Where are your services available?
I offer virtual psychotherapy to adults (18+) in Ontario. Depending on where you’re located, I may also be able to work with clients in other Canadian provinces. If you’re outside Ontario, feel free to reach out and I’ll confirm whether I’m able to provide services where you live.
What technology do I need for sessions?
A laptop, tablet, or phone with a webcam and microphone works well. Headphones can help with sound quality but aren’t required. Let me know if tech is a stressor — I’m happy to walk you through it.
How do I book a session?
You can book online using the Book Now button on the homepage or by clicking here. If you have questions before booking, feel free to reach out.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes — I offer a free 15-minute welcome call so we can meet, talk about what brings you here, and see if we’re a good fit. You can book it by emailing me at serenity.creek@protonmail.com, and we’ll find a time that works for you.
How do I pay for sessions?
Payment is accepted by credit card or e-transfer. You’ll automatically receive a receipt after each session after each session, which can be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement if eligible.
What’s your cancellation policy?
I ask for 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. This allows me to offer the time to someone else who may be waiting. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee.
Can I drive or work during a session?
For your safety and the integrity of the session, please avoid driving or operating heavy machinery while we’re meeting. Sessions are most effective when you’re in a calm, private space where you can focus on yourself without distraction.
How often will we meet?
That depends on your needs. I typically meet with clients every two weeks, but I’m open to meeting more or less frequently based on what feels right for you. I’ll meet you where you are.
Do you assign homework?
Sometimes — but don’t worry, it’s not the school kind! Homework may include small reflections, journaling, or gentle practices to explore between sessions. It’s always meant to support your well-being in ways that feel manageable and helpful.
Still have questions?
You’re always welcome to reach out, and we can book a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
